Efflorescence is caused by water moving through concrete and masonry products. The water dissolves salts that are contained in the material. When the water evaporates it leaves the salt on the surface. This is sometimes referred to as lime deposits. The only way to remove it is by low pressure washing and thorough rinsing. At Gallagher’s Power wash we use the correct water pressure and temperature along with the correct detergents to remove all efflorescence.
When the removal of efflorescence if not trusted to a professional it is a very difficult and tedious process with the result often being inferior.
